Agent Bonhoeffer shot this from behind the fence at Creech Air Force Base. Third generation video, lost quality along the way. Dennis Duvall is unwilling to help the arresting officers, so they had to force him to move his body. This is the first mass demonstration at Creech in opposition to UAV warfare.

  • These people are stupid. Maybe we should deploy them for behind-the-lines recon duty.

  • You'd think that idiots like these protestors would at least know what they are talking about.....the MQ-1 and MQ-9 UAV's are not autonomous drones, they are remotely piloted by human operators. If having the ability to support and save our troops fighting on the ground without additionally risking the lives of the UAV crews offends you, well then you've already contradicted yourself.

  • Those people are there for one reason...entertainment :)

  • @maddyp52095 Anyway, I'll let you have the last word. I have no desire to debate with a troll. You're not going to convince me with your claim of research when I have actually lived the life that contradicts your research. You have papers, I have lived it. So go protest more and show what people who can't get a job actually do with their time. I and the rest of the country will continue to laugh at your idiocy.

  • @maddyp52095 In other words, you're too close to the situation. One, I seriously doubt you've written a thesis on anything. There are more PhD's online than have ever actually earned it in its entirety. Two, you were brought up by anti-war hippies if your grandmother was one of the protesters. I was brought up by the same type, but I learned to think for myself and to make my own opinions. Is it any suprise that you came up with the same answer as those who raised you?

  • @Cyberbelum I 've done plenty research on this subject. I just wrote my final thesis on drone warfare, and I, in turn, have come to my own conclusion that this is wrong. And, seeing as my grandmother was one of the people arrested here, I have every right to tell you that it wouldn't be another thing. It is only one thing. War. Always war. Because there is ALWAYS an alternative solution.

    Also,

  • @maddyp52095 ...continued...ever, but they do happen in war. Nobody tries harder than Americans to eliminate civilian casualties, but at the same time, we don't put our troops at risk any more than necessary to get the job done.

These protesters are just that, protesters, if it wasn't one thing it would be another. I'm glad you read an article, but realize that whoever wrote that article had a bias. We all do. You'll always be able to find someone who will write what you want to hear.

  • @maddyp52095 Not even close maddy, if they were doing it manned, they'd do it the same way unmanned. I happen to know a few of the unmanned pilots and I know that they did it the same way we'd do it when we flew manned missions.

Your revolutionary war reference isn't even close to being on the mark. A person dying and a tax are not even slightly related, with the exception of the statement about what is inevitable (only death and taxes). Civilian deaths are not intended...to be continued.

  • @Aenyn Well, seeing as "these people" are against the war in the middle east in the first place, maybe you should rephrase your comment. Here, why don't I do it for you? "These people are against civilian deaths. Maybe we should send them to solve our nations disputes. Maybe then something could be handled diplomatically, without war.

  • @Cyberbelum I'm sure if it had been a manned flight they would have done their research and actually made sure it was a terrorist they were bombing, not a civilian home. There are countless examples of things like this happening, and my example absolutely applies here. Saying that one my of a civilian death caused by drones is like saying that one specific tax didn't matter to the patriots during the revolutionary war. It's one part of the bigger issue.

  • @maddyp52095 I'm sure there are always examples of where things could and have gone wrong, but the same thing could be said about manned flights. Would the story you read be any less of a problem if it had been manned?

It's been a year since I watched (and commented) on this video, but I don't think your story really applies here because these people don't seem to be about a specific example of wrong doing, but rather of a more general nature complaining.

  • @Cyberbelum I don't think they'd have a problem with it if the CIA would make sure that they were even bombing the right people. They don't care if they're killing civilians. I read an article about a man who's home had been destroyed, and his only son killed, by drones because Taliban soldiers had stopped by his home asking for lunch. How is that okay?
