They went to defend neutral Belgium,Englands shores werent under threat.The UVF of 1914 were brave bastards no doubt,they believed that if they gave their lives theyd guarantee being part of the UK.Loads more died the worst were the Newfies of the Canadian army and also the Accrington pals two of whom were my ancestors.All of them did what me and everyone on here wouldnt have the guts to do
