Another great live performance by Canned Heat at the Beat Club. This time on their European tour 1970. The song is taken from the album "Future Blues", released as a single in Europe and the only Top Ten-Hit for a Canned Head title sang by Bob "The Bear" Hite. It's also one of the last performances with Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson who died a few months later of a tablet overdose at age 27.

I Understand he may be an outstanding musician and man.. but I believe there should be some emotion. Maggot Brain.. that's emotion.

He wasn't really blind. He had really bad vision to the point of not being able to do almost anything without glasses. WIthout glasses he couldn't recognize faces and details on extremely close people/objects. Thast why he was called blind owl. He isn't actually blind, just bottle bottom glasses. He was an amazing musician and the band definitely lost magic after he deceased. Rest in peace Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson.

My mom saw these guys at The Cheetah in Santa Monica. One of the most bad ass bands of this era....HANDS DOWN! The band's performance at Woodstock is a MUST SEE. They rocked that stage to it's foundation on that Saturday evening.

I like the STP sticker on the guitar @ 1:21,those things were running rampant back then, you saw em everywhere and everyone had em giving em away.
