Waist Wraps Introduction

Lesson Type: Beginners-Intermediate

Prerequisites: Basic spinning.

In this tutorial, I'll give you an introduction into waist wraps by showing you how to do them in a side plane. This is much easier and requires less flexibility than waist wraps in the wall plane, but still looks effective, and can feel very nice when transitioned smoothly into other moves.

Experiment, and have fun. If you find it hard, send me a comment, or post a video response of yourself attempting the move, and I'll help you out.

Enjoy,

Nathaniel Everist

  • What was in the bag Nathan???

  • What bag?

  • Oh, that's not a bag, it's a basket for pegs for the clothesline. I wish it was something more exciting.

  • Its a good video no doubt but

    Thats no a waist wrap . . .

    Those my friend are "meltdowns"

  • Yeah, I do meltdowns in the video, because they demonstrate what is in my opinion one of the easier movements to incorporate the waistwrap into it. Meltdowns are half waistwrap, half crosser. If I was showing a waistwrapped weave in the wheel (or side) plane, it'd basically be a btb weave. This video is to get people used to the concept of waistwrappying. If you want to see a more complete waistwrap video, check out my other one, this one was just and intro to ease people into it.

  • @NathanielEverist the one to the right

  • It used to be old-school, but the wooden ones were started to rot, so we've upgraded to the 20th century lovely synthetic and bio-undegradeable plastic pegs. God Bless.

  • Ahhh! I see Clothes pegs. But do you favour the funky plastic multi coloured creations?? .. or go oldskool wih wooden pegs?

  • Look at the bottom right of the screen :)
