A local 'Anglican' Parish Church service in Stevenage.

Part of a university project overviewing the Anglican Church, also known as a 'Church of England'.
This video highlights some of the main points of the Service which took place on a weekday.

The congregation was very small and the Service was 'said' as opossed to being 'sung' with hymms.

Readings were taken from 'The Common Book Prayer' (1662) though a late modern edition which included common repeated verses in the Bible and The Nicean Creed of 325CE.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion was performed here where Christians symbolically eat Jesus's flesh, being the bread, and drink his blood, being the wine.

The Vicar was very helpful in explaining his Service and wore a red scalf symbolising the current Anglican season of Martyrs.

  • I dont want to comment on why this may be the case as there are many reasons however i will say that the Vicar in this video is not.

  • @aus1022: Vatican 11? I didn't know they got up that far. Were those sequels released direct to DVD?

  • While the Anglican communion is not recognise by the Catholic Church, Vatican 11 says we are brothers in Churist. I have attended an Anglican communion and find it similar. Luther said anyone who belives he is receiving Christ body and blood does received it by faith

  • Why Didn't You Film The Consecration? That's The Most Important Part.

  • @Mujahid1 : 'Honour' killing is also shirk. Think on that one.

  • @aus1022 the Church has declared that any Mass similar or non similar to the Catholic Mass, but offerd by a Church not in Communion with Rome, or not in line with Apostolic succesion, is not valid!

  • @dacatholicbandorgan Although I am a Catholic , I see nothing wrong with the Anglicans call themselces Catholic. There communion services are the same in the High Church as in Roman Catholic Church. Let God judge them not man

  • It would be much better if everybody in aggrement with the conditions of Rome would recommunicate with Rome and let the liberal remmnant Die Off.

  • What a load of rubbish

  • It's quite different in the states, we fill churches but too many are far right wing.

    Peace
