This Google Earth movie shows the drainage path from the Santa Susana / Boeing field laboratory to the headwaters of the Los Angeles river. The Santa Susana field laboratory is an EPA super Fund site and is on record as having numerous soil based industrial pollutants. Boeing, the current operator has been fined for allowing outflow of pollutants from the site into tributary streams. Pollutants have infiltrated ground water in the Simi and San Fernando Valleys. In the 1950's the DOE oversaw reactor facilities that experienced the nations only recorded domestic nuclear meltdown. The extent of pollution, and related health effects are unknown. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Susana_Field_Laboratory
