Using GoPhone with the new version of iPhone 3G no hacking

This is a video that demonstrates how just out of curiosity, changing an AT&T GoPhone simcard in an activated from AT&T Store iPhone 3G gave us the full capabilities of prepaid plan including the 3G network speeds of internet browsing. Making it then a false statement from AT&T when they say that the iPhone 3G does not have and will never have pre-paid service. This was done in the time when the iPhone 3G was still not unlockable to use with any SIM card and this demonstrates that if you put any AT&T sim card in the iPhone 3G the plan that is linked to that phone works perfectly just like any AT&T phone.

@MrDexterslaboratory Yeah AT&T sucks on data plans! When I used the 3G without the plan, just to see a map in Google Maps for emergency I had to pay like 50 dlls! Bastards!

I'm using a GoPhone sim card in my iphone 3g, the calling works but i put in the Data plan and its says that "could not activate cellular data network: You are not subscribed to a cellular data service"..... can you plz help

@jeffronschaeffel Buy a att gophone and the prepaid refill card. Then activate it online. Afterwards, when u activate it, put the sim card into ur iphone (AND ONLY UR IPHONE) most important part. Because if u put the sim into another phone before ur iphone it won't work.

hi i activated my sim card but it still only lets me make emergency calls. is this because i need to put money on my iphone so it can charge my iphone?

@Dadachip2009 What happened with the iPhone 3G is that my friend bought it at AT&T and it was activated through iTunes, so it was activated, then when we swapped SIM cards, the phone worked with the pre-paid service. Just beware the 3G usage price is outrageous! So what we found out is that as long as the phone is activated through some sort of means, maybe Dev Team's solutions or other you can use a goPhone card without further tinkering.

@lebguyfever Did you Jailbreak your iPhone? Sometimes when you jailbreak it, you need to unlock it as well, but for this you must have a very specific Bootloader version if you have a new version of the bootloader then are not able to unlock it at the moment, You can also use Pwnage Tool for Mac (to my knowledge) and tell it that you have AT&T service and it should work.
