as part of the military yes we do help around the community here in Okinawa well Japan in general but locals don't like the military presence for the crimes we do and some locals feel like we are hurting their culture and traditions. We occupy 10% of their land and since our promise from the late 90's we have only given back 4% of what we promise i would be pissed too. But at the same time the Okinawan economy is highly supported by military members.

The only people that complain about the U.S military on Okinawa are people from other regions of the world. Okinawans respect the U.S military. You are all acting like we enslave them and destroying their land. You need to get a fucking clue and drop this sob story bullshit. We are the same as any company or buisness, yes we take up land, but we put it to good use not just for the U.S. and Japan. We are highly involved in helping the surrounding community no matter where we are.
