A Totalitarian Police State, where all information is censored over the Internet, and where everyone is constantly being under mass surveillance, will put an abrupt end to a democratic free nation.

Really, who cares about the ethics of it, even if it's illegal?

I got fed up with trying to prove the legality of it, but I'm more worried about WHAT THE GOVERNMENT PLANS TO DO TO CATCH PEOPLE DOING IT!

Only possible way for them to identify people who file share over the internet, whether they're using a Proxy, a wireless WiFi connection from a laptop, or using someone else's public network, the point is the Government would have to establish a Totalitarian Police State to identify them!

Wow, who is this dumb cunt?

Seriously, does it have molecules? Shouldn't that be enough for you to shut the fuck up?

Maybe physics isn't your thing, how about economics? Tell me, what's the value of something that can be replicated infinite times at the cost of $0 per copy? What is the value of an item that infinite copies of it exist?

Think Copy (Ctrl+C) vs Move (Ctrl+X). Taking a gum means if the store had 100, now they're 99. One gum can't be at two places at once.

Sigh.. ok is anyone angry about you taking the gum? no, they are angry because they can't make money selling the gum. Thats why its illegal. The same fucking ethics applies to Music downloads fuckhead. Once again i don't give a shit what you do though

how about you pick up the book "All You Need To Know About The Music Business" and get back to me. I read it my Freshman Year. Sorry to tell you Data is a tangible good; the fact that I study this largely trumps your credibility over mine.

In that case then production of all goods needs to be stopped because the stores that already carry it will no longer be able to make money off the good they have bought and put into their stores.

If that's the case producing new models of cars, computers, digital cameras, etc should be illegal because they directly affect the price of the ones that already exist, or in other words, cause loss for their owners.

Seriously, is this the logic they're teaching you? I'd drop out if I were you.

Well hey i think you understand now! You just need to take that extra step, you can do it! Notice how new cars, computers, and digital cameras aren't stolen that often?? That means that people make profit from selling them!

And what about knockoffs? They are just like illegal music! They lose the real thing money, but then again they are still advertising the real thing! Just like illegal music, thats why I don't care if you download, it still advertises the band. But not the Label.

I see your logic, but if you apply it more universally, you can see that it makes no sense. If any activity that can affect the potential of someone making a profit was to be illegal everything would be illegal and we wouldn't have rights to even the things we own.

It's like saying every burger BurgerKing sells is stealing from McDonalds because the person who bought that burger would have bought a burger from McDonalds instead if there was no BurgerKing.

People want the burger, they don't care who makes it or where its coming from. This is tangible real money going from McDonalds pocket straight into BurgerKing's.

I could make burgers of my own and give them to you for free or for very cheap and make them taste exactly like BurgerKing's. Again you are eating a burger that you would have otherwise bought from BurgerKing. I may have affected BurgerKing's profit, but that doesn't make me a thief. I'm a nice person who made you a burger.
