This may be my favourite recent performance of hers. It is so full of emotion; it sounds so melancholy. It makes me want to cry.

I agree with you kngiht84: the lesson scene with Dessay is humorous, but made with exageration. Patrizia knows how to be funny within some limits.

Oh yes, and the lesson scene is much more exquisite than Dessay's (tho not as humorous).

Patrizia Ciofi's interpretation is more touching. She makes me cry. Dessay sings well, but her interpretation is more artistic than emotional. Patrizia feels more Marie's pain.
