I Am Swedish But Fluent In French When I Was In Port-Au-Prince No One Spoke French (The Hotel Staff Did) But They All Understood It And I Think Creole Is A Piece Of Cake.
I am Swedish but fluent in french, when I was in Port-au-Prince no one was able to speak french except the hotel staff, but UNDERSTANDING it was another story...I think Creole is a piece of cake, it is after all french-based.
I dont know what everybody is complaining about. Both French and Kreyol have been spoken in Haiti side by side for 205 years. You may speak kreyol at home but if you go to Haiti everything is in French...passport, newspaper, billboards, etc. Kreyol is being used a lot more though. And also, Toussaint L'ouverture did not know Kreyol, Petion did not know Kreyol, Capois Lamort did not know Kreyol..."Kreyol in my heart, French on my mind"- Union Fait La Force!!!
do you know how to speak english because you have yet to make any sense. if it helps right in french....oh yea i forgot you dont know french well right in kreyol hopefully then you can make some sense
"my mom is born and raised in haiti she doesnt even speak creole/kreyol which you spelled wrong you clown!" I didn't realize I was corresponding with Nia.
my mom is born and raised in haiti she doesnt even speak creole/kreyol which you spelled wrong you clown! learn something before you make a fool of yourself im a damn haitian i know about haiti and my family speaks french and kreyol. i don't have anything backwards i know most haitians speak kreyol but they also speak french too
I think u got this one backwards. Haitians speak kreole, not French. kreole is just fine, and a vehicle of the Haitian culture. There're are cultural nuances in a nation's tongue. any language is a reflection of nation's current social-economic status; our language needs work because we need work. That's not to say that someone can't better themselves by learning a second language; only saying kreole is the de facto language of Ayiti; So long Cite soleil speak kreole and not French, we're kreole.
