"屈機" is actually quite different to "own" in that "屈機" can be used as an adjective while "own" cannot. "owning" or getting "owned" by someone simply means there is a lopsided victory.
MelsTheGoodest is quite accurate with his explanation, "屈機" implies that one party is exploited by another -- there is no such connotation in the term "own"
Dude, you are so gonna get laid every night in HK with that Chok face of yours with 港女 in LKF. 港女 dig that shit from foreigners.

屈機 is when you are in a situation where you have a disadvantage beyond your control. The term came from fighting video games (機) where a character is programed a certain way that gives other characters an unfair disadvantage (屈).
Ryu VS Zangief ---> 屈機
Guys born rich gets all the ladies ---> 屈機
Guys born with good looks ---> 屈機
Corporations dominating local small businesses ---> 屈機
