We've had more failures than success this year. After the most humiliating failure on our last rodeo of the season, Kiss is leaving for professional help. I don't know what to do with her. I'm stressed, frustrated, and she finally broke me down. I know she has what it takes it's just taking more work than what I have expected. She turned sour, so there is going to be lots of work up ahead to make barrel racing relaxing, fun, and happy for her and me again. I will be putting up progress videos of her if you would like to keep tabs on her. I put some good moments in this video to as a comparison. This is not a critiuque video. Please don't bother with that. I'm aware that there is a problem. It's just for entertainment. Thanks for watching.

  • I hopes she gets better. I know exactly what your going through. My horse ran so good and we were winning and placing consistently, then she just kept getting worse and worse. I sent her away for training and now she is good again. Anyways, good luck with her. I hope she gets better.

  • How old is Kiss. Could her hocks be bothering her?

  • knew I would need my riding teacher.

After many fun miles on my horse's back I went back to the pattern and started up again...and guess what...I didn't have the same expectation of myself or my horse and it was fun and relaxing again. He was rusty and cut the barrel off but only did that when I was frustrated so I let myself relax and have fun and we did an awesome pattern! Remember, no pattern is perfect so that's why you do your homework at home so you can correct it along the way. Also, ...

  • one of the hardest things to do but I did it. Another thing I've done is hang around the right people. People who believe in me and stand by my side through the tough rides in life. I have to give my mom and my riding teacher the credit for that. I also have grown closer to God which has been the biggest and best change of all. When your faith is waivering, everything else does too. He is our true hope and joy! He's always there in our time of need and brings the right people at that time. He...

  • helping me along the way. Teaching me a lesson I asked Him to teach me and it was harder to swallow than I expected. I had been winning to much and expected myself to do good all the time. I lost the vision of having fun with my horses and it all fell apart and I blamed the blamess. I took it from the start again and decided I wouldn't barrel race until I learnt to just have fun with my horses and that's exactly what I've been doing! I'm a very determined person but I just needed a break and its

  • Hey,

It's interesting you say that...I just went to my first rodeo after SO much hard work put into my horse and myself. He was winning consistantly in gymkhanas and jackpots and I thought we were ready but when we got to the rodeo it all fell apart. He almost missed second and swerved before the third barrel not even noticing it was there. This was all because of the bulls at the other end. Disapointed I left the rodeo scene questioning God. It had no reason to blame God because He was only...

  • I know your sending her to a professional. And Im not trying to sound like I am telling you what to do... but maybe you should give her a break or just switch things up. My Barrel horse loves team penning. Theres tons of things. I hope she gets better!
