  • RIP Ed. Ed White was killed in the Apollo 1 fire.

  • It was larger than the mercury since it could carry two astonauts rather than 1. The two outer opening doors also allowed the opportunity for america's 1st space walk and hydrogen paroxide thrusters allowed the 1st manual directional control experiment in space. (mercury auto with some non precise manual control) It was also amercica's 1st pressurised spacecraft that allowed the crew to operate without a pressure suit. 1st orbital experiment and effects of gravity/radiation of crew members.

  • Is that the same size of mercury project's capsules????? I bet it's the same or just a littlebit larger. Incredible how they could fit people almost like sardine cans.
