Fifteen boats with the Dutch Coastal Cruising Association took a 4,800 mile sailboat odyssey around Norway to Archangel on the White Sea and St. Petersburg on the Baltic Sea. The voyage commemorated the 300th anniversary of the Russian Navy founded by Peter the Great.

Yes. After 100,000 lives lost, the canal was too shallow for any intended military use. Or maybe I'm thinking of one of the other canals built by zeks.
