Freur - Doot Doot (live) circa 1983
Freur was a concept band and a phenomenon that brought together that which does not fit!
The guy with the hat is Alfie Thomas. He is the devil's envoy on earth and reports to the prince of darkness in the shape of a black poodle. He is the evil counterpart to Brian Eno, who makes common cause with the good guys.
Nowadays, Alfie repairs and sells antique cars in a barn.
Rick Smith is a transspecies mutant.
The singer Karl Hyde posesses magic powers:
As you can see in the video at 0:51, someone points a heavy-duty raygun at Karl, and he does not explode! In fact, he seems to smile at the effort.
The drummer Bryn Burrows is a heavy choleric.
John Warwicker's biggest accomplishment with the band is his absence!

  • These blokes went on to become Underworld and write 'Born Slippy', which just goes to show that we can all learn from our mistakes.

  • Oh really? what did they learn from 'Born Slippy' then?

  • Great song.

But they're playing in playback in a very bad way.

    It's a fake live.

  • what you consider bad playback is actually a great live performance!

  • @tromsorbk i'm so jealous of people who lived it... [i was born in 1990]

  • Ich bestaune Haarpracht und Gewand von Karl Hyde. Der Mann hat sich im Alter fraglos zu seinem Vorteil entwickelt...

  • Love this song!!

  • @eiffe look up karl's bio and u will find out.

  • My favourite 80´s song!!!

  • I have managed to collect the entire catalogue of these guys, Freur, its rather incredible, best stuff is unheard of by the rest of the world. Some of it is eons ahead of thier time. Anyone who has heard the rest of their stuff will agree.
