@bwizzle431 Hi, thanks for a great question! You are 100% correct that the first move has become known as "the americana" lately. Kimura put on a shoulder-lock where Helio Gracie's hand was opposite of the americana). These types of shoulderlock w 90 degree angle was new to Helio and was was given the name "Kimura". So being that I spent many years under Helio and the Gracies I still call these kind of shoulder-locks (palm up/ palm down) for "Kimura's" or Chicken- wings! All the best!
