I'm all for clean energy.

Now SierraClub post some sort of solution to the problem. Preferably one that is cost effective.

Look... I work as a research scientist in EOR and previously I built large windmills and this is just a stupid video aimed a ignorant people. Solar wind and geothermal can not compete with fossil fuels nor will they in the near future. @Paul6791 I basically agree with you, but we don't live in a break-even world... Industry makes too much money to let it slip away, and the people who think like you don't have the up front money necessary to make it happen on a large scale.

Solar, wind, and geothermal energy all have significant start-up costs, but they more than pay for themselves in their lifetime. With virtually no maintenance required, wind farms and solar arrays provide free and clean energy. The only question is whether we, as a society, are willing to pay up-front costs in exchange for long-term health and prosperity

or maybe they are pointing out that there is a line when it comes to what is appropriate and what is not. burning coal on college campuses is not appropriate.

You're right, and unfortunately, that is all Big Environmentalism does - point out the "problem" with everything related to modern civilization. They dare not propose their "solution" for fear of alienating almost everybody --- kill off 5 billion people, and "advance" civilization back to the Stone Age.

The idiots at the Sierra Club are losing their minds, if they ever had one to begin with. These commercials are foolish, as very few will even understand what in the hell the point of it is. What ARE those lumps of crap in the guy's bed anyway? Why is he kissing them? And what does "too dirty for college" mean when it comes to coal? OMG, they got taken to the cleaners by some "trendy" ad agency!
