That's absolutely right.
And its bizarre...when I watch a Meades programme, I feel analytical and humanist and atheist...
and then I watch Stalker or Rublev and I feel like Christianity IS the answer.

That's what I was thinking. Tarkovsky's polaroid photos evoke similiar feelings. The big difference is Tarkovsky was a highly spiritual artist, whereas Meades is an emphatically secular art critic.

Thanks for posting this. I am in Japan and missing the wild beauty and wrecks of the Hebrides in storm soaked wind and salt bleached sun.
