Why you should care about Apple's new Passbook

Apple wants its new iOS 6 wallet app, Passbook, to be the next mobile payments game-changer. But it's lacking some critical elements. Without them, Apple is going to get left behind as users flock to third-party apps that can do what Passbook can't.

I SURE HOPE THIS APP HAS A SHUT OFF FEATURE! You know, If you don't use it, turn it off to remove from screen. I know I'm getting sick of apps that I don't use, and can't remove.

* APPLE needs to put this feature on all their built in apps.

I heard apple was working on a way to use mobile payment for iOS 7. Like credit cards, etc with NFC or maybe even without NFC. One thing that's annoying with apple is they always cut off support for an old model iPhone once a new one is released, even though the older iPhones can still support it. That's how they make their $ forcing you to buy new phones cause they purposely cut off support on old models.

Apple is TOTALLY missing the boat on this. Where is the NFC integration? The banks and MNO's will run mobile payments and that is probably OK. Mobile payment needs more regulation.
