I was wondering why this wasn't on here, one of my favorite songs.

Drivin' in my Saab
On my way to Ireland
It's been a long time
It's been a long time
Drivin' with my friends
On my way to Ireland
It's been a long time
It's been a long time

So when I was out
In the desert
And a cowboy
Tried to lasso me
He said your red
And made of clay
A virgin portrait
I let him wake me
But decided not to stay

Next in New York
I fell out with a dragon
Of the white collar kind
But just as ferocious
I remembered Macha
Running faster than the horses
Then an encounter with
A voice that caressed me

Wasn't it you who
Held off a surrender
To one spoiled nun
Who taught you the names
Of the mountains
On the moon
And then a Jesuit
Proceded to arrange your soul
While I prayed
On my knees

  • Brilliant.

  • Don't forget us Tori, beware of stereotypes and remember, you are so loved here. Ireland.

  • Tori is my absolute favorite ever, and I have played her music since my daughter who is 7 now was born..........and thankfully she loves her as much as I do.

  • @sickofwaitingtables And many of other fans who like all her new stuff as well. She can't always play the same type of songs over and over again. This may not be her best song but it's not as awful as your opinion is. Just because you, or other people, don't like it, doesn't make it bad. What last 3 albums are you refering to? American Doll Posse and Abnormally Attracted to Sin? They're amazing.

  • @FeverRai

Actually, Tori is my favorite artist. However, her last three albums have been less than satisfactory, and I'm not the only person who thinks that. The production is less than stellar, the style is campy, the piano is always drowned out... There are many fans of hers that share my sentiments.

  • @sickofwaitingtables I notice you write a lot of negative comments and critiques of Tori. Maybe you should show us your music so that we can criticise you in everything you do?

  • I'm all for Tori being happy, but what possessed her to create this album (and ADP and AATS for that matter)? Couldn't she have expressed her happiness through the exquisite melody and masterful pianistic expression that her first albums are laced with? Instead we got over-produced, pseudo-reggae crap like this. "Drivin' in my Saab"? Are you serious? There was once a time when Tori could write sheer poetry. My respect for her died with this album.

  • This is my mom's favorite album. She considers is "a mother's album." I suppose there is a maternal wisdom in this that most mother's understand, being mellow and in this stage of their lives, as Tori was when she created it. I think it is very good in that sense. Maybe one day i will 'get it.'

Tori has found peace in her life, people need to realize that. I am glad she is happy and peaceful. I don't wish sadness or torture on anyone for my own entertainment.

    That is selfish.

  • Very relaxing, almost reggae-like

  • @XxXxhaylsxXxX Baltimore and Rockville, MD

  • When I first heard this song I hated it, thought it was one of the worst songs I'd ever heard. I thought the same about Sweet the Sting. Now I find them just lovely, nothing too deep like many of her other albums but it's nice to have a nice melodic collection of song. Just lovely.

  • @TearInTheirHands This songs so gorgeous I agree lol Tori's allowed to be happy she's not all sadness, she has a happy side to her too :D people should lighten up I like how this song is like she's so free and happy!!! good on you for having an opinion TearInTheirHands

  • I LOVE THIS!

  • Just because it isn't wrist-cutting music doesn't mean it's bad. If you guys don't like happy-sounding Tori, there's always Little Earthquakes and a box of razor blades waiting for you.

  • I guess the Beekeper will gain more respect as years pass by. The production is a bit cheap, but the songs are amazing, and some of them really represent Tori's composing skills at its best: "Toast", "Marys of the seas", "Original sinsuality"...:D

  • thanks for posting, I like to drive to this.

  • maybe it's just me then...i just feel that the songs she sang (especially the ones directed to her mom, tash or her brother) that were on this album were very genuine and full of emotion.

You've got to admit that "the beekeeper" (the single) is just plain genius. maybe "toast" too?

  • i can see what you mean. checked out the song, didn't like it. i don't know..

  • i think it's a very different album. it's the only one of hers that calms me down. It's very serene and honest. Try "Ribbons Undone" it really works :D

  • i heard a live version from this tour, it was much better than the recording in my opinion, but i still don't like it.. i just don't really have a taste for this album. some of the songs i could like, but the production kind of kills it for me. it's just a personal thing, to all who like the beekeeper, more power to you!

  • she's played it live. I actually heard it live before hearing it on the album :D

i don't know if i agree that it's that bad. i never payed much attention to it. i don't like the tune but...

  • ware is she from

  • Good lawd wasn't 'The Beekeeper' dull....

  • this sing rules ur probly the 10000000 worst person on you tube get a life!
