@SsteinwayS "(Can't wait for Gulio Cesaer) Well, was Cleopatra what you expected? I LOVED it. I'm assuming you were referring to the Paris production by Emmanuelle Haim. With those two Dessay/ Cleopatra became a young, attractive, political strategist with youthful enthusiasm and mannerisms and relied heavily (as history suggest) on her seductive talents. Natalie\s comedic talents were not neglected.
@velazquez2009 Agreed! I've never found a rendition of "Da tempesta" that's ever really satisfied me, so I hope her's is the one! I'm excited to hear what she sounds like but also curious as to the production...I wonder if she'll be dressed up as an Egyptian? That would be so cool! Perhaps it will end her "blonde stage" :P But yes, even with a "damaged" voice she's TEN TIME BETTER than most, if not all!!! :)
@SsteinwayS I am already dreaming of her version of "se pieta di me non senti"...
I am curious what she will sound like in Da tempesta... Well ofcourse her acting shouldn't be an issue...still I am very curious what she will do with such a great personage. Yes, she sounds much better here, which gives hope! But even with
Well not terrible, but she's always perfect...so even a little bit off is alarming! But wow...this video proved to me that La Nata's still got it! :O :)
I know!!!! Here this is the BEST EVER :O I was like OMG she was sounding terrible this past year, but this was... :O Maybe it was the Russian weather?? OMG Cleopatra is making me sssooooo curious!!
Her best performance of this yet in my opinion! Her voice is getting more and more full...although it's still not that big :( Can't wait for Giulio Cesare!! :)

a ravaged voice I prefer her to so many others!

@SsteinwayS I can't wait for Claopatra either!! Got to see it!!!
She loks so chique here and sings with wonderful phrasing and steadier technique than earlier this year!
It is so moving how completely her commitment is!! Brava Dessay!!
