DELOIS BARRETT CAMPBELL achieved celebritystatus in the ranks of gospel artists earliest. As a high school student, she began singing with the Roberta Martin Singers and proceeded totour and record with this celebrated gospel sextet for eighteen years. In 1982 her name, along with those of her colleagues in that ensemble, wasentered into the Smithsonian Institution's Hall of Fame. She has the distinction of singing at the funerals of such legendary figures as MahaliaJackson, Dinah Washington, Sam Cooke, and Sallie Martin.

RODESSA BARRETT PORTER has also devoted her life to gospel singing, first in Gary,Indiana, as the choir director of the Galileo Baptist Church and later in Chicago as the choir director at the Liberty Baptist Church, as thefounder of the independence Choral Ensemble, and as a public school music teacher.

BILLIE BARRETT GREENBEY studied voice at the American Music Conservatory, participated as a gospel soloist in various settings including Thomas A. Dorsey's Gospel Choral Union, and became general secretary of the Baptist Training Union.

RIP Delois. So sorry to hear of her passing 8/23/11. I know she had been suffering for awhile. But she has passed from this life to life everlasting and Thank God for videos, records, cds, we can still enjoy her and her sisters praising our God. AMEN AMEN
