I tought he smashed his racket to federer head...
-
ridiculous

@DkwonX No it's not, because if you "hit something against something", this implies you're striking something. In sports, you would usually say, "in match against" or "in game against". It has all to do with the object preceeding the verb in the sentence, and in this case an object is commonly associated with "smashing"

@urcritic Is "against Federer" from the title, not precise enough to also mean "during game against Federer". For any fluent English speaker it would be.
-
@DkwonX Of course it doesn't "necessarily" mean he hit Federer. But the title is vague enough for any fluent English speaker to initially assume the racket hit Federer. A more articulate title would be: "Soderling smashes racket on ground during game against Federer". There you go, free English grammar lesson - you can thank me later.
-
@urcritic it actually does not necessarily imply that. DUMBASS
-
@urcritic Haha, dick.
-
Title could be worded better, "smashing his racket against Federer" implies he hit Federer with his racket - either intentionally misleading or I recommend an English grammar refresher course. Also, one might say the quality is less than suboptimal. Conclusion: Fail.

Is Soderling hurt? He was once my fav, but haven't seen him. I guess he's injured. I haven't had any tennis in about four months due to Tennis Channel and Verizon negotiations.
