Actually this Particular Lick is the style of Chet Atkins (Tommy's Mentor)
Watch this Chet's video " Autumn leaves" played lived to see him use this lick.

really nice explanation but he is playing 8th and 7th fret and saying 9th and 8th fret ........lesson was absolutely nice......2 thumbs up

Great lesson but Jim keeps calling 9th when he means 8th. Have a look. Also if it was the 9th you would get c# and G# both which do not work against AM or C Chords.
