  • @gothless I know of at least 4 origins of how the language was formed. The obvious one is an African dialect; mixed with English. Also touches of the Irish tone, and even German words i.e mager = skinny. The difference being; in the US there would have been only the English spoken, therefore limited to one language. Whereas in Jamaica, there have been mixing of cultures, for a very long time. I'm British of Jamaican heritage; mixture of African, Irish, and Syrian. Motto 'Out of many, one people'
