What a stupid review. Why did they even bother to test the car if they were going to trash it for being Japanese?

Hah, i don't think this guy in the video drives faster than 40 kph. i got the car with a 1.5 and it was pretty impressive to me, bigger engine now and i love her even more. IMO, the car still stands up well visually to most new cars now.

very opinionated review in my opinion (in a bad way). Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, in their respective classes looked like Mazda's of that era, so I dare this Quintin fella to say what else had more 'flair' than this 323... certainly not the Golf, Corolla, Escort, Astra, Lancer, Sentra, NX, 306, and on and on I could go
but then again its long been rumoured that shows like this were unfairly criticizing imported cars to help bolster sales of the struggling euro brands, esp the British ones

The design technique used for Mazdas during that era (1992-2000)was (in my opinion) very unique and intriguing (anything but "dull")but the engines just weren't really that impressive...If we had a JDM 323F V6 it would probably compare very nicely to any VW but with only 144 horses and a need for high revs....well it just wasn't up to the challenge and i guess that was the main focus in this review. There were Jap reviews where they compared their 323F to others and it was in the top 3
