More from the mighty Psychic Maps, one of Dunedin's most exploratory and extraordinary bands. "Billy Mitchell", a song about the Donkey Kong world champ, and begging to be released as a single, is at the poppier extreme of their diverse set-list... that's if you like your pop with some fizz and crackle. Now a quintet, the ever-evolving 5-ring Psychic Maps circus encompasses punk, rock, motorik, pop, country and even dub reggae all filtered through the individual talents of the band. Members are Simon MacLaren (Loves Ugly Children, The Subliminals, Sleepers Union), Geordie Frame, drummer Jeff Harford (Bored Games, The Rip, My Deviant Daughter), Lucy Hunter (Opposite Sex) and, on percussion, trumpet, melodica and backing vocals, Jonathon Holloway. Catch them if you get a chance.
