I have the same bike, bought it off the showroom floor. As part of the sale they walked me threw all the addons, When I got to exhaust they told me if I didnt run a chip after the upgrade I would actually cause my bike damage! I agree who cares about going 200 mph, but I want my 2011 Fat Bob to last 100,000miles before its first rebiuld!
Not sure why everyone's so concerned about losing power on this bike. It's made to look cool, be a comfortable ride, have easy handling, and most of all scare the shit out of people when you WFO the thing (aka sound loud and awesome). If you're worried about moving faster you're in the wrong market.
@Mozy1981 Yes its true. Mostly because of the length of the pipes. But can also happen if you remove baffles from existing pipes. Back pressure is needed to produce max torque. If you want to keep the best performance go with either Vance & Hines bigshots or a 2 into 1 pipe. Good luck!
is it true you lose torque with these pipes? i'm thinking of getting them for my 2010 fat bob but I am confused now after i read you lose some torque with these pipes. appreciate the help!
well, i certainly don't lack power on this bike, i got the racing chip and screamin eagle air filter on it! like a bat out of hell!

You can get the baffles for these pipes. Still loud but more back pressure and you can get a better tune.
