    actually it was banned for 11 years. Made in 1976 and untransmitted until 1987. ;)

    And I prefer this version 10 times better than the Sting one.

    This original version is far better than the film. This was banned for around 20 years and shown in the late 1980's from my recollection. It was part of a "banned" night perhaps on Channel 4. I remember one of the other films, they showed that night, "Freaks" (1934?)

    Dennis Potter wrote some wonderful plays, except perhaps Blackeyes, but we all have some failures.

    thanks so much for posting this. i saw the version with sting almost twenty years ago, and loved it. i haven't watched all of this one yet, but i will. i think i like m. kitchen better than sting. thanks!
