@wannaBnice I'd like to see your conceded little ass spend an hour in a 4x4 cell with no windows. You might get kind of...bored?...claustrophobic?...lonely? Any kind of incarceration is wrong, and worse when it is one of our own species incarcerating us. I agree people who have killed should spend life in jail, but so many laws are unnecessary and 70% of inmates are there for minor charges (possession,d.u.i, etc.). These are not reason to take lives from people. Which is what incarceration does.
@rayandreina I spent my 16th birthday in jail. I was diagnosed with multiple psychological problems afterwards as well (now on 3 different medications). The inhuman process of "justice" we have developed needs to be adapted to better suit the people of today. Sitting behind bars for years at a time does serious damage to the brain and the way it makes connections. It doesn't kill you, but it takes your will to live.
What kind of jobs can you get without a high-school diploma? How about delivering pizzas? Bagging and shelving groceries? Sweeping floors? These are all simple, unskilled jobs that anyone can do. With LOTS of people trying to get them! Priority being given to those who have at least finished high school. Especially in this sagging economy of ours! Please. You are better off in school. Stay there.
No, this is real life that I'm talking about. You didn't think this could ever happen to you! But it IS happening, right before your very eyes. Yes, you are indeed IN it; you're no longer just on the outside LOOKING in. It's real life. And no, this is not a dream -- no matter how much you wish it were. So don't be a fool; stay in school!
Youth of America: if you drop out of school, then you're really just cheating yourself! And so if you're in school, stay there. You might just discover brains and a heart that you never knew you had! Graduate. I don't care how bad you seem to have it at school, or at home; prison is 1,000 times worse! And unlike the movies, you're literally in it; you cannot simply walk away whenever you feel like it. And it's not pleasant.
Couldn't agree with you more wannaBnice. I just read about a story of two individuals who were underage, that decided they wanted to beat and torture a disabled teen for 6 hours. Now tell me something, you really think that they should be tried as juveniles and serve their time and be back out on our streets in the next 5 years. That is complete bull crap if you think that. The moment you commit that crime, there should be no mercy! I don't care who the hell you are.
I think you should have thought about "your childhood" when you committed your crime. I don't feel sorry for you. Nope. No sympathy over here. Do the crime; Do ALL the time!!

@rayandreina Exactly. Unlike the movies, incarceration is 24/7 no fucking "breaks". Imagine life in prison man.
