FFVII - Level 8 Cloud vs Bizarro Sephiroth (No Materia)

Other: 255 Strength and Dexterity, fixed Magic Defense bug.

I figured you were tired of watching me boost my defense to the point where attacks do 1 damage, so I decided to do these battles a little differently and gave Cloud 255 Strength and Dexterity instead. I also "fixed" the magic defense bug, so that the Ziedrich actually adds 98 points to his Spirit. In case you don't know, one of the worst bugs in FFVII is the fact that an armor's magic defense doesn't work. Why Cloud? I'll tell you when I upload the Safer video.

First of all, this isn't the regular version of Bizarro. All the other characters are at level 99, so he's got almost twice as much HP as usual. That goes for all the parts. Contrary to Safer, Bizarro doesn't get any stat boosts, so he's not any stronger. It just takes a while longer to defeat him.

So, what kind of difference does having max strength and speed instead of defense make? Not much on the highest battle speed, but if you turn it all the way down and give yourself Haste, you'll get quite a few turns between his. Enough to kick his ass to kingdom come, while still giving him a chance to deal some damage to you now and then.

Anyway, let's take a look at his attack pattern. Certain parts must be alive for him to use the spells. If one of these are dead, he'll just attack. Aurora Fence is used when the arms and head are dead and is the most dangerous attack since it revives the other two characters. That's against the law, so we can't have that happen. In addition, Bizzarro Energy is used every turn when the Core is alive.

1. Attack / Aurora Fence
2. Attack / Bolt3 (core + right arm)
3. Attack / Quake3 (core + left arm)
4. Attack / Stigma (core + head) / Heartless Angel (head only)
5. Nothing
6. Nothing
7. Attack / Ice3 (core + right arm)
8. Attack / Fire3 (core + left arm)
Repeat.

If you don't know this pattern, you will get killed in the face so that you die as a result of dying, and it will hurt. If you do know it, you can just play around with him and humiliate him completely. You start by setting up Cloud with Haste, Reflect and four Hero Drinks, which isn't cheap now that I don't have max defense. Then I can kill the head in time to avoid Stigma, although I probably could have survived it this time. It does inflict poison, though, and I don't need that.

After that, the rest of the battle is simple. When the arms are gone, you can move Cloud to front row and start attacking. With the Yoshiyuki, he deals three times as much damage when the other two characters are KO'd. Not quite as good as Tifa would have done with the Master Fist, but it's just as good as the Ultima Weapon with full HP. Sephiroth is almost harmless even in front row, but I use Barrier to make sure he doesn't kill him with a critical hit.

I always wondered how you actually have the tome to make all of the different saves with one character at lowest level and other not and other files like this and have come to one of two possible conclusions... 1, You use gameshark codes to change levels and such, or, 2, you actually do do everything... Could you actually tell me if you get the time or read this xD, anyway, nice battle...

I played this challenge on a real Playstation, and I had to play disc one twice. On one file, I kept Cloud and Tifa dead all the time, and on another I kept Barret and Aerith dead all the time.

That was two years ago. Today, I adjust the levels and stats with gameshark codes and use the universal battle modifier to fight any battle I want on the world map. Of course, I make sure it's all legit.

As for how I have the time? No job at the moment :S

I use a plugin called PEC (Playstation Emulator Cheater). Google it and you'll find it easily.

How do you actually damage the core?

When I play, I kill the arms and head, but still no vulnerability...

Then you must be fighting the two or three party version. In that case, you need to destroy the core with the parties not including Cloud first. Only then can you damage the main core.
