Eddie Hill defeating Joe Amato in the final round of the 1988 Fram Supernationals. Hill shocked everybody with a 4.93. However, the 4.93 was only good enough for the event E.T. record. Hill's earlier 4.99 was not quick enough to back-up the 4.93 for the National Record.

  • Thank you for this incredible video. No announcers, how cool.

I was there when this happened. You can't see it on video but a big storm was moving in and there was a lightning strike in the back ground as Eddie Hill blasted down the track. It rained hard about 10 minutes later. It was such a bad storm I think a kid in the parking lot got hit by lightning. That run was a good 5 hundreths quicker than anything ever at the time. It stood as the quickest run for 364 days if I remember correctly.

  • still have the coverage of that race on vhs. was too fast for the national record, his previous pass was not quick enough for the 1% backup. saw him run many times, Eddie and Fuzzy were awesome!

  • God, You just have to love Fuzzy Carter. Sadly missed these days.

  • Got to love Fuzzy Carter throwing that hat, what a great time in Drag Racing!!!
