LIMITED EDITION PRINTS OF THIS DESIGN AVAILABLE SOON at my Etsy store : http://justintfirefly.etsy.com

I was commissioned by Christian Metalcore band Woe to the Inhabiters to design the cover for their demo entitled "Mountain Mover." For my initial idea, I had designed a stencil using a heart with thorns around it, a cross and fire, spraypaint it onto a painted canvas, then apply some stained cut outs of crosses, a cherubim, John the Baptist and an open Bible. I wanted to arrange these photos around the stencil in a way that created a subtle movement along with some features I wanted to add in Photoshop later on...Well, that idea sucked, so I started over. This, by the way, was already my second idea, so, on to idea number 3.

The Painting = 8"x10" canvas with two layers of spray paint + sprayed vignette. Each stencil was created in Photoshop, printed, traced, then hand cut. Subject matter is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I scanned the painting into Photoshop and used various scratch brushes, layer styles and adjustment layers to achieve the final result. Cropped and branded copy is made available to the band only. Non-branded version will be made available as limited edition prints in my Etsy store (http://justintfirefly.etsy.com) very soon.

The Video = captured using a Flip UltraHD camera, screencast created in Quicktime Pro and edited in Final Cut Pro - Made on a Mac. Song during first half is "Cry For Help" by Showbread from their album "Life, Kisses and Other Wasted Efforts." Song during middle "I screwed up" section is simply three sample loops layered over each other. Song during second half is "Delfino" by Mexican Ska band Sekta Core! from their album "Morbos Skacore Infierno." Finally, song during signature bump is "Bananarang" by Taj Motel Trio from their album "Feels the Force" - You can go see them live and you'll be glad you did - otherwise just listen to ska!
