  • @avilleguy I wanted to have him sign my Juice album too when I saw them in concert but I was a little shy. I wish I had. He wrote so many beautiful songs.

  • the song 'i still love you' is one of my ALL TIME favorites. the words, and juice's voice and the arrangement and interpretation are all TERRIFIC. thanks otha for that song, it is always playing for me.

  • I met Otha a few times. He was a great guy. Genuine, extremely talented, with a good heart. I remember the first time I met him I asked him to sign the Juice Newton "Anthology" CD -- and he seemed surprised. I told him, "This music is as much yours as Juice's," which is true. The pair worked together for nearly four decade, and what a team they were. Otha also wrote a 1988 Top-10 hit for Juice called "What Can I Do With My Heart" as well as '70s hit "Sweet Sweet Smile" by The Carpenters.

  • We knew him as Bob, class of 1960 at Los Gatos High. He was senior class president, star on the football team, and the nicest BMOC if there ever was one. He really lived his life well.

  • I met him in 1984 back in Ohio after Juice's "Salem Spirit" concert with Alabama. He was nice enough to sign autographs and bring me and a friend onto the tour bus to meet Juice herself! Hopefully it brings his family some peace to know he made a huge, positive impact on so many people, even strangers like me.

  • I was privileged to get to talk with Otha a couple of times. He was such a down to earth guy. Very easy to talk to. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Othas family and Juice.
