I was messing around with my brand new Canon Vixia HV40. I made a tripod dolly out of PVC piping and eight inline skate wheels..its not the smoothest dolly around, I need to tweak it a bit. The footage was taken in about 20 minutes or so, not really planned out. All I have on the lens is a UV adapter. I edited it on Windows Moviemaker, so there is no color correction or any of that fancy stuff, just a few fades and slow motion. The dolly was actually on top of my bulkhead at a 45 degree angle, so I had to adjust the tripod head to even it out.

  • You said you use Movie maker right? How did you get the colors on the Icicles and the part with the cat? I liked those. If you know how you did it Please reply or send me a msg. :) Thanks, Nice vid, 5*.

  • Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the feedback! I didn't alter the color in any way in post. I just used the standard lens with a Hoya UV adapter over it. That soft glow came simply from being lucky and catching the sun as it was setting. I got this camera to film a movie trailer for a script I wrote, I'll be posting some more videos soon as I learn more tricks with this thing. Good luck Tom, thanks again!
