  • @JeffBend hi buddy. i was at Zippos circus in my home town of Brighton. i was lining up for a hot dog with the miss. when i court a voice i knew as its in my blood.he has been my idol all my life! When i turned round he was 3 people behind me with the children. I couldn't begin to tell you how i felt at that moment! you can tell by my face in my profile pic.LOL. i just walked up to him and the 1st thing i said was i am your biggest fan.He said hi and thanks. so i said can i have a photo please.

  • @mattaystig well, you could share the full anecdote - otherwise it's a bit of a brag.. give us circumstance and location.

  • awesome

  • i have met DAVID GILMOUR!!!! what more can i say???????

  • @RyanWehr

Correct! The neck that was originally mounted on the black strat (a 22frets all-maple Charvel licenced by Fender) was replaced by a new '57 reissue model in 1997 (practically when he got back his guitar from the Hard Rock Café in Dallas!) with a new reissue '57.

A few years later, to be precise in 2005, it was finally replaced with that of his cream-coloured stratocaster. Everything about the timeline of the guitar is fully documented on the black strat official site.

  • @GilmourWaters91

No, definitely they are not japanese models; they are Fullerton USA reissue. By the way you can check by yourself all infos about them on the 'gilmourish' website. ;-)

  • @mbrellin I dont think there is a Fender in his collection that is not American. i read Phil taylor's book and he said that alot of the guitars he used were 57 re issues. his current Black strat has a new neck that is a 57 re issue ( cause the origianal got damaged while loaned at a hard rock cafe ) but in 1994 his main red strat was a 57 re issue.

  • @mbrellin I've also read that they could be Fender Japan, but that is not possible because Fender Japan uses poly to finish guitars not Nitro, and David's red strats have finish wear.

  • @GilmourWaters91

    it could be possible.

  • @mbrellin I've read the Cream and Candy Apple Red's could be early 1984 models.
