  • anyone recommend any other bands that are like fates warning?

i enjoy bands like queensryche, crimson glory, screamer etc. any others?

  • @joshmattg For classic progressive metal you can't go wrong with Dream Theater. If you want to try some heavier prog melodic death metal check out Into Eternity - The Scattering of Ashes album is my favorite with the songs Severe Emotional Distress, Timeless Winter and A Past Beyond Memory. Also check out Scar Symmetry.

  • Akkasoothy, no such thing as "too epic". LOL! That's what made FW so unique. It's progressive metal. Long intros, multiple time signature changes and multiple melodies throughout. No commercial formulaic rules to follow in this style of music. Hopefully you liked the song as a whole. Keep It Metal \m/

  • @joshmattg Psychotic Waltz?

  • @TheGoldenPS1 Haha thanks mate I've heard all those bands though :)

  • @joshmattg Hittman, Liege Lord, Riot, Sacred Oath, Attacker, Apollo Ra, OMEN, Savatage, Lizzy Borden, Vicious Rumors, Griffin, Titan Force, Steel Prophet, Sword, Cloven Hoof, Heavens Gate, Scanner, Mania, Manilla Road, Sanctuary. I assume you have already heard of Helloween ;)

  • sounds like helloween vocally

  • @vindude1968

Don't try Dream Thater, it has nothing to do with prog metal. Try Watchtower instead.

  • @joshmattg

i recommend Psychotic Waltz if you like this

  • @EnterTheTurmoil you say that like it's an accomplishment.

  • @MurkyVids they can drown in a pool of vomit because this album succeeds metallica in every way possible.

  • Metallica called, they want their uncomfortably long intro back.

  • Haven't heard this song in years but was going through a lot of older metal tonight and thought of this album. I forgot how awesome the cover looks... and it sounds! Thanks for the upload, man.
