By ear. All the cool wicked sick versions you find on youtube are for one part mostly learned by ear.

Hey, i'm like grade 5 for violin, but I also know a fiddler from Shetland, in the semi-famous band - fiddlers big. Andrew says that I will be able to play that sort of tune, I know a few fiddle techniques... but where can I find sheet music at that level? All the versions of tam lin I can find are really easy... it's really irratating me, as I love to hear this sort of music, it's a dream to play like that. PLEASE HELP ME!

I leart this from a 'Gaelic Storm' CD with them all on a beach on the front. They are the ones who play on the Titanic film by the way. The 2nd tune is Jennys Chickens. good luck...

i am in awe
that is an amazing rendition of tam lin...i dig the double stops all over the place. i wish i were better at bluegrass.
not to beat a dead horse when it comes to fiddle videos, but i don't suppose you know if she learned that particular version from sheet music somewhere or figured it out for herself?
maybe i'll slow the music down and transcribe it or something
kudos on the playing and keep posting!
looks like a nice evening
idyllic music, good fire
(dont know if 'idyllic' is the right word)
what means to burn that "wicker man"?

hiya aerobique, nice to see you outside the goldfish bowl of worrying about global warming.
I really don't know what it means to burn that wicker man! and not sure if i approve - some pagan ritual, although it was in canada's "bible belt".

my computer doesn't have sound!! :(
but yes, the close-ups of the burning man are great, all the sparks and everything. and then after that close-up we have a closeup of a another hot person...
i have heard it's minus 28 there today. not sure if i miss it - the mossies only bothered you, they almost never bit me. but, it did have its charm, all that open space and nothingness - a big sea of land.
