How do you know they can't understand the lyrics? Just because English isn't their mother tongue does not mean that they are not able to speak English or at least to understand it xD

Everyone in Germany has to learn English in school so I guess most of them do understand the lyrics ;) :D

I find it very sad that (you think) people in an American show singing German would get booed off the stage -.- Just because of the language? In which century do we live?!

But if there is a foreign artist on stage in a foreign country, why should they boo him if he sings in his language? Couldn't they just listen and decide afterwards if he is good or not? That's just the way I think things should be. Call me naive if you want to, but I can't understand why people always have these prejudices against foreigners and do treat them that different ...

I got to say that I don't know how Americans would react to someone from a foreign country, I just call it very sad that people boo someone just because he is not from their country... very sad ...

It's a little different with the sport thing, I guess: there are these two teames from different countries and one of them is from your country and maybe you boo the other team ( it's not right in my opinion )

You're extremely naive if you think I'm not correct. The average American is an absolute idiot. Collectively, we boo everything that is foreign. Go to a hockey game where they play both our National Anthem and Canada's and try to tell me the entire place doesn't boo once the Candadian anthem starts. Not saying it's right, it's the way it is in America.

I guarantee someone singing something in a foreign language on an American stage would either get booed or be met with absolute silence.
