While in LA D. Ramirez filmed a 6 part Masterclass Music Production Tutorial Video at Icon Collective.

In the videos D. Ramirez takes you through the whole process of creating a track from scratch - finding inspiration, putting down ideas, creating beats, working with synths, basic vocal production, arrangement and final mix-down.

The videos are split into 6 parts (around 40 mins each). The part creating beats we invited Steve Duda to show us his new drum plug-in Nerve and we manipulated all the beats in Nerve and there's also a little run down of the plug-in's features etc.

  • Is it just me or is the track out of time?

  • @disciple21781 Because the sound is picked up through the microphone he is speaking into which means all room acoustics and all the reverb is picked up too and since the microphone doesn't sit directly in front of the speakers the waves of both speakers get recorded at slightly different times.

  • he looks like a dog

  • arrr i love this guy ... the dance to see if ya feeling it is the most important

  • @glict truth

  • Boring dance track

  • Amazing producer!

  • HIS VOICE REMINDS ME OF HOWARD MOON (MIGHTY BOOSH)

  • @djvangenie I would guess that it's because the Mac's internal sound is being recorded, and that of the microphone, whatever it is being recorded to must have high latency. A 16th note delay would need to be some seriously bad acoustics ;)

  • 0:51---the dance is awesome!!!!! Thank u for highlighting that making music is supposed to be lots of fun!!! Great series, great instruction!!! Thank you for sharing ur knowledge Dean!!! God Bless!

  • im not trying to hate, i appreciate the tutorial, but why does everything sound like it's train wrecking
