I worked as a machinist for many years. All we have here today is military work only because the government is required by law to have military work done here at home (or at least a percentage of it). Also companies such as Boeing won't purchase parts made in China because if something happened it would look really bad that we didn't have more control. Also, it's required by law.

But all the commercial machine work is GONE!
