  • This doesn't look like a Northern Mantis.

    Is this a Southern one?

  • It is a traditional Northern Mantis form that is sometimes known as Tai Chi Plum Flower Mantis Boxing when referred to in English.

  • I've checked out your website. What you wrote under 'philosophy' lacks humility.

"The only thing that makes one a good fighter is fighting."

It makes it sound like your main selling point is the frequency of your sparring classes. It comes across like a fighting factory without history, culture and tradition.

Sure, there's a lot of showmanship kungfu around, but there's a lot of other modest and good sifu's quietly passing priceless knowledge to their students.

  • Thank you for your feedback

  • @TOKH11600 i dont think you understood the method then. do you choose non violence or must accept non violence to compensate for you inability to abide within violence. therefore you must accustom yourself to violence. his program institutes a medium to intergrate this aspect into your kung fu. its like anything in this world. theory needs application through a test phase. feedback...even if a theory is a proven method it must be practiced by the novice to...think medicine.

  • wow it looks like a language to me. I've never done any kind of martial arts at all, so I'm sure Im not able to appreciate his skill, but looking at the video, he looked like he was dancing and talking with his hands - utterly beautiful - if that makes any sense. And what an amasing control of his movements. I wish I had learned something like this growing up, it must give a completely different consciousness to be so in tune with your body.

  • thanks :D

  • something like "the general´s order" or at least similar.

  • does anyone know the title of the "original" music, not this arrangement?

  • His philosphy is correct. I would recomend looking beyong San da. MMA rules, gloves etc are more conductive to mantis training. Combat jujitsu and combat sambo also have some competition set ups you might look into. In Chengdu we get our tailored help/cotton so they don't rip when we do throws. Invest in quality.

  • i'm training this style, ;)

  • yes it is zhaiyao 1

  • It is zhaiyao 1

  • Looks like zhaiyao 1; thanks for posting!
