*I misspelled "obviously" at the end.*

The following is an email received from a person who contacted Pagitt after seeing the telecast. The person warned Pagitt about Jeremiah 17:9 ("The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?") The writer shared how this verse was instrumental to their own conversion. Here is Pagitt's reply:

"I must say that I see the gospel totally differently than what you conveyed in your e-mail. I was not converted by a verse but always loved and changed (even ongoing) by a fully-participating God who created me in his image. I would strongly encourage you to have a much more full and biblical understanding of the gospel, and not form a faith based on any interpretation of one verse.

I'm not sure you'd be interested in this, but I have just finished a book somewhat on this topic. ***I think it might give you a more full understanding of the gospel than the one perverted by the likes of John MacArthur. I do not say "perverted" lightly, either.*** I really think what he communicates is so distant from the message of the Bible that it is dangerously harmful to people. If you heard the interview and his comments about a God who is "above us," I certainly hope you would see this."

- Pagitt (emphasis added)

This clip is the video debate on CNN between Pagitt and the Bible really, but the two people are John MacArthur and Doug Pagitt. At the end of this clip is an interesting audio clip from Pagitt's podcast recorded after his visit to CNN. It is very revealing...

  • Im young and i was 18 when i found John MacArthurs sermons online and i still watch them i love that church the only thing that opens the door to recieving true salvation is sound bible teaching on the gospels and the new testiment, not yoga, how silly, and this guy rejects that the scriptue can relieve stress and bring confidence to a believer, well i would say if he is a christian he really has fallen away from the faith and needs to get on the right track.. IF he is a true Christian.

  • It's not that young people don't go to church, it's that they don't believe in God at all. Many of them have picked up the idea that believers are crazy because of upbringing of parents like that woman. That "crazy" guy is John McArthur and he speaks from the heart of the Bible. How much more they must have thought our Lord crazy in His day. He was crazy in His love for His people. He paid the piper for them. For strangers and those yet born. How crazy is that? He ain't crazy he's Jesus.

  • Let us not forget the little known 11th commandment! "I am the LORD thy God and I made you in my image which is fat and arthritic and thou shalt not try and have healthy and supple bodies for I am a jealous God and shall smite those who can bend down and touch their toes because I can not."

  • The body parts of those of the same sex do not co-incide with one another and do not work together in any logical sense. Therefore no logical argument can even be made. I am not trying to pass judgement in the case of heaven or hell, every sin is forgivable because of the Atonemnt of Jesus Christ but there also needs to be repentance meaning if you are still gay you have not repented and your sin has not been forgiven. With that being said you can't argue homosexuality scripturally or logically

  • Scripturally being gay is wrong that is easy to see and understand but that of a natual man who does not know God as stated in scripture will continue to do such evil things and also approve of those who practice them. This brings me to the understanding that Mr. Gaybasher is not a Christian and therefore cannot understand the scriptures but try to find ways to disprove scripture, by trying to find some type of personal logic in doing so. I ask what logic is there in being a homosexual.

  • Thank you Lane for this video. Looks like another pastor bites the dust with trying to be cool and "relevant" with the world.

  • @Gaybasher100 I have never heard the saying "The road to Hell is payed with good intentions". I think you meant "paved".

  • @BeauG92 You have only proven you are a moron, disgusting piece of shit, and Hell bound.

  • @Gaybasher100 i've already shown how flawed they are, your doctrines...change the record you stupid fuck.

  • @BeauG92 No but I can give them God's word straight from his book where he tells us gayness is a sin and an abomination. YOU are like a virus and a plague on humanity. It also instructs us in the Bible to make evil ones like you aware. I can see nothing works on a moron like you.
