Several Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate Techniques plus extensions grafted together: Five Swords, Parting Wings, the extension to Bow of Compulsion, followed by a take down and an ending...This is pretty much Ideal Phase stuff, although I know that that term is sometimes associated with the base techniques without extensions, as opposed to what you see here...My Journey in this Art began after I saw the "Perfect Weapon," the quintessential kenpo movie starring Jeff Speakman...My lineage is through John Sepulveda and Larry Tatum...Thank you for viewing...I am in the Kansas City area...www.kansaskenpo.com...Jim

  • he quick and strong and i know your not trying to hurt your uke, but his last punch while the guy is on the ground is allways feet away when it should be at most and inch from him. It helps to punch to the ground when you are punching a person who is on the ground.....

  • Thank you for the comment. Don't forget/notice the simultaneous knee strike to the groin/bladder that occurs at the same time as the punch to the face. This sequence was done about fifty times-the uke would get bruised in that area if I punched closer. Safety is first. The face punch is actually secondary to the strike with the knee, should the head pop up due to the knee or bouncing off of the ground, the punch is there: colliding forces principle.

  • sooo... may i ask what the point of the combination is? looks impressive, but i don't think anyone is fighting back after that first knee to the groin.

  • a compliant uke is critical/instructive in Ed Parker's kenpo for the Ideal phase of training - not the what if - in training, the issues are, how close to reality do you want to get and which system is most realistic. Ed Parker's kenpo is unique: the uke trusts the person executing an endless barage of defensive serial/simultaneous techniques designed to overwhelm an attacker. Thank you for your post.

  • nice control...very nice

  • thank you for your comments, everyone

  • Teach me that!

  • Your Techniques looked great, however your cross step and recover doesn't look quite right. Your arms are much thinner than mine perhaps it's an optical illusion, but if you just slow down the cross step and recover i think it would look better.

I hoped this comment was helpfull I don't want to sound over critical.

  • @alexabar To quote the late, great Fats Waller, "One never knows, does one?"

Yep, a solid groin shot would drop most men. But some can absorb full blows in the nether regions and keep going. Pain thresholds vary enormously among individuals. Also, some street creeps have been known to wear groin cups --

  • hahah looks like he's having a sezure (don't know how to spell that) on the guy, it looks really cool tho

i mean if i was fighting him and he started doing that shit, i'd freak the fuck out hahaha

  • @planefreak3 I seen many street fights and at clubs and when a guy goes to the ground hes DONE!. A football kick or a stomp with dress shoes is deadly. Wrestling and sambo is good for the cage but on pavement you better be able to strike.

  • @planefreak3 as in win the fights that u get into...

  • awesome, love American Kenpo techniques.Kenpo has to be one of the best street fighting to learn.

  • its always interesting to see local martial artist doing their thing.
