thanks for posting...its true most of us do this naturally and without thinking. I ride a M109R and to turn the 350 odd kgs countersteering is a must. Its just the little "wiggle" before comitting to a turn. Most of us refer to it as getting the "feel" for the bike your riding.

@qettyz thanx. god willing, i'll get a bike in this lifetime.

@secutorclaudius I got my motorbike license last summer and before riding that countersteering sounded difficult and strange, but from the first drivings i was so ok with that. "Nothing new", because we all do that also with bicycle for example. It was that theory what caugth me thinking that it sounds weird, because i've never thought that before with a bicycle.

@markysan92 seems counter intuitive, since i've never ridden. is it hard to learn or does it come naturally?

@secutorclaudius Leaning does not produce a turn, it is the result of countersteering.

I have some concerns about the video examples presented here. Based on your examples, countersteering only becomes necessary at higher speeds. This in not true!
Countersteering just as important at low speeds as it is at normal operating speeds. The physics do not change simply because you are going slower.
The reason turning at low speeds "seems" different is because you are able to account for the fighting forces more readily. The fastest way to steer at ANY speed is countersteering.

Look's like a Kawasaki Vulcan EN500 LTD bike, That your riding.

You mean, I don't have to lean in my car while turning? Thanks Ben Stein! Just kidding. Good video. I know, I'm a jerk. Don't hate me.
