I do wish there is a visual recording of Cappucilli's Rigoletto. He wasn't too tall for the part, like many other baritones portrayal the role!

This is a shame that no complete "Rigoletto" has been commercially issued featuring Piero Cappuccilli. He was oneof the foremost vocal interpreters of the part, and a very impressive actor as well.

Cappuccilli sang until his mid-sixties; an automobile accident in 1992 ended his stage career. He died in his native Trieste, at the age of 78

I'm afraid, I think it is not available. What a shame! Cappuccilli was a fantastic singer and a great actor at the same time.

Many thanks for that video. Do you know if the complete performance is available somewhere? As a great fan of Cappuccilli, I wonder why there is virtually no complete "Rigoletto" on video available featuring him. It's all the more surprising that he is generally a valuable actor, with an intense stage presence.

What is the meaning of that? Cappuccilli came from Trieste in Italy.

I only found out about the tragic passing of Cappuccilli about a monh go when I was cruising wikipedia. I must say, it left me feeling more blue than it should have. But then again, why shouldn' t it? So many many memories. The tremendous 1977 recording of Rigoletto with Domingo et al...Macbetto about the same time with SV...Rest in peace big man from New Zealand :)
