Just up very late using Fedora 12. Here I just go over some applications that I use.
Fedora and Ubuntu are very good Operating System. Whats easiest is what you are use to using.
If you get use to using Linux you'll feel as comfortable as when your using Windows, OS X or whatever OS your currently using.

  • I agree that you can do a lot with Linux. Its also very good at running on small amounts of memory, this makes it great for older machines.

As for terminal, I find that I "have" to use it in Linux at times. I almost never have to use it in windows or OS X.

  • For most things there is a GUI front end app for it. That why you don't "have" to use the terminal.

  • I haven't tried Fed12 yet, I used 10 and 11 in the past. But you have inspired me to install it on my laptop ... DL it now, and will have it running this afternoon. Nice video, I wish everyone would give Linux a shot before killing it.

  • Good video man.

  • @ThingsontheWeb I have Linux Ubuntu. I've never tried Linux Fedora. I may, sometime.

  • Good video, a quick, fairly thorough demonstration of Fedora 12 and the programs that can be used with it in an easily understandable form. Thanks for sharing with us.

  • I'm about to try this, I was always very interested in Linux, I have tried Ubuntu and Debian for some time but then I switched to Win7 when it came out.

Depends. If you want to run it in txt mode your specs should be fine. If you want to run in graphical mode you will be pushing it.

I have an old laptop that has a 500mhz processor and 192 MB or RAM. I have a Fedora Core 6 CD, and I was wondering if it could run reasonably well on it. Thanks for your input.
