I was testing adobe after effects and I was rotoscoping for the upcoming movie I am making. The video was found at the Ryan Wieber's website and it was un-edited, so it gave me a chance to test, my rotoscoping skills. Stay tuned for movies that will involve rotoscoping.
In one week, we will start choreography and then film that same week. We hope to have our film out in a month or two.

Don't know what rotoscoping is? Search it up on Google!

In the video it is not me, but soon enough you will be able to see me in a video like this... Just stay tuned for more!

The rotoscoping may not be the best but note that it was only a half hour job, the real project I am working on will be done with so much effort and determination :) Remember! stay tuned!

  • how long did that take to rotoscope? for my history project, it took me like two days to rotoscope a minute and a half of lightsabers because i had to do two :P. good job on the action and rotoscoping! it looks great!

  • it took me sometime from half and hour to an hour... I estimated 1 minute per second of footage. Thanks for the comment!

  • you did a good job rotoscoping it, ive tried rotoscoping and it comes out weird at the hilt, do you think motion tracking is a good way to do the points on the hilt?

  • I would not use motion tracking... I would manually do it... I dont always trust motion tracking cause sometimes it could suck real badly. lol

  • sry i didnt read the discription my deepest apologies. understood. please forgive me. lol and i hate it when ppl do this kinda stuff and i ended up doing it to someone :( lol i suck at life apparently keep up the good work...

  • no, it is alright indeed! no need to be that sorry. and no you do not suck at life. its just simple mistakes we all make all the time. thanks for the comment

  • "FUCK" hahahahaha and damn those guys were moving fast lol pretty good choreography !

  • Cool, a bit sad though, u must of spent ages making that routine!!

  • FUCK!

  • @TheMartialartsJedi go here ryan-w.com/ryan-w/faqs.html and its in the second little blue faq. and the file is called RvD Set 1 untouched

  • wow.. the stick sounds crackling sound of a saber

  • idk lol, this seems to take a lot of time, but maybe it was possible because i ahve made a video like this, and me and my brother fought really slowly and so the editing took a lot longer, when the blades swing fast it moves a lot quicker in less time so i guess this might have been able to take an hour at the least, maybe a half hour if your extremly skilled in rotoscoping

  • @Chrisjouett12

it's entirely possible. you can tell we he skipped some keyframes, because the blade seems to glide from position to position.

also the ends aren't rounded while they are blurring.

those extra steps add A LOT OF TIME.

those things aside, this isn't bad.

  • there is no way this took half an hour
