With all due respect, the genre died:

When the baby networks ever-expanding slate of shows ate up independant stations' available airtime; and

When too many genre productions were asinine rip-offs of "Hercules" and "Xena", or brain-dead displays of t&a (such as "VIP"), with glaringly shoddy production values.

LotS has good stories and production values.

  • Terry Goodkind got suckered. He thought they'd be making his books, and they ended making some other crap. The series is good, but compared to the books it's crap. I cringe every time I see a new episode, and again not because they're not good, it's because it's not what Goodkind wrote. It's like watching and alternate timeline... (A fork in prophecy as Nathan would say) It's like saying "Hey let's do Lord of the Rings as a TV Series, but let's just do it in the style of Dungeons and Dragons."

  • I think the show is great. Sure its different from the books but wouldn't it be boring to make a one to one copy from the books when you have read them already?

The problem with fantasy series/films is that there are many nerds who are complaining about the show/film isn't exactly the same like in the book.

I hope there are many more seasons to watch in the future.

  • The books were superb but the series sucked really hard...

  • For those of you who have seen the trailer, and watched this video:

These kind of series, witch totally annihilate the original story, are the exact reason this genre died!!

The true fans of this genre, and those who would watch this series, will read or have read the books.

Don't get me wrong, I like the books, I like the genre and I defenatly like to read, but this...

I don't give this series a long lifespan, it will die, just like it's predecessors.
